The CPAP therapy is the most effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea. It uses a machine to provide air pressure that reduces the flow of air into your throat and it’s the only treatment that can stop symptoms of sleep apnea such as snoring and daytime drowsiness.

A CPAP mask is a device with an attached air hose that delivers a stream of pressurized air to you through your nostrils while you sleep. The mask is designed to fit tightly against your face in order to create a seal, giving it its name – “mask” or “respiratory” – because it covers most or all of the nose and mouth.

Oral appliance therapy is a treatment for sleep apnea. The main goal of the therapy is to improve oxygen flow and reduce snoring in patients. Oral appliances can be used with all CPAP machines and are an alternative to CPAP therapy for those who can’t tolerate the device.
